“Wearing It Well”

The Objective
Town Sports International, owner of the New York Sports Clubs and its sister gyms in Boston, Washington and Philadelphia, wanted to thank their high-profile customers and boost their brand visibility. By getting high-profile customers and celebrities to wear their products, it would enhance their corporate image and offer thanks to a loyal gathering of clients.

The Solution
M&R Designs & Promotions decided to leverage the seasons to reward customers. They worked with Town Sports International to develop an upscale gift idea that would enable high-profile clients and celebrities to effortlessly promote the NYSC brand. For the holidays, Town Sports International sent their VIP clients a selection of hip sportswear, including camisole tops, bike shorts, backpacks, and baseball caps. Clothes were packaged in special boxes with the NYSC logo on top as well as a hand-signed card.

The Results
The merchandise was a hit with the recipients, who enjoyed the trendy products. The thoughtful, personalized gift helped to cement customer relationships. An added bonus occurred when celebrities around town were photographed wearing the clothing and accessories.



MR Designs and Promotions - Lifetime

“A Night at the Movies”

The Objective
Lifetime Television for Women wanted to raise affiliate awareness of its three network channels, and to increase distribution of these channels to affiliates.

The Solution
Because all three channels—Lifetime TV, Lifetime Movie Channel and Lifetime Real Women Network—all rely on movies as their lynchpin, M&R Designs & Promotions worked with them to develop a promotional idea that played off this platform.

They developed a “night at the movies” theme, and wound up distributing bags of flavored popcorn—a different flavor for each channel—along with a ceramic popcorn bowl displaying the Lifetime logo. Also included was a video sampler with highlights from each networks’ unique offerings, and direct mail collateral that invited recipients to “spend the night with us.”


The Results
Everyone was impressed with the bowl and requests were made for additional packages. Lifetime received an increase in affiliate inquiries, resulting in a 10% distribution avenue increase.



MR Designs and Promotions - Clinique

“In a Nick of Time”

The Objective
Clinique, a leading beauty product manufacturer, wanted to give a memorable holiday gift to its 18,000 employees under a tight budget.

The Solution
M&R Designs & Promotions was called in to help Clinique come up with a holiday gift. They chose to create a custom silver travel clock with the company’s signature green color tone as a backdrop light. It came in a custom-designed silver tine imprinted with a “C.” Each clock was gift-wrapped in custom wrapping paper and a bow and was drop shipped to each employee’s home, both foreign and domestic, in time for the holidays.

The Results
The innovative gift idea was a hit with employees, and it came in under budget for the company. In addition, the marketing team ordered more clocks to have them on hand for corporate events.
